Driveway leveling

Sunken driveway repair in Eastlake & Lake County

Settled driveway slabs raised back to level with polyurethane foam. No tear out, no new pour. Most driveways are done in a few hours and you park on them the same day.

The problem

That dip in your driveway gets worse every winter

Driveways sink because the soil under them settles or washes out. Freeze and thaw cycles in Northeast Ohio speed it up. Water pools in the low spot, works under the slab, and the sinking accelerates.

Replacement means demolition, a torn up yard, days of curing, and a full new pour price. Foam lifting fixes the same slab for a fraction of that. We drill a few penny sized holes, inject expanding polyurethane, and the slab rises back to level.

Signs to watch for

When a driveway needs lifting

A dip at the garage

The first slab off the garage floor has dropped and your tires thump over the edge.

A sunken apron

The section where the driveway meets the street has settled and holds water.

Uneven slab joints

One slab sits higher than the next. A trip hazard and a snow plow catcher.

Cracks that keep growing

Cracking usually means a void under the slab. Filling the void stops the movement.

Water pooling

Puddles that stick around after rain mean the slab has tilted or settled.

Slab pitched at the house

A driveway that slopes toward the foundation sends water where it does the most damage.

How it works

What the foam actually does

Diagram of polyurethane concrete lifting: sunken driveway slab over a void, foam injected through a small hole, slab back to level
The slab sinks because the soil under it left. The foam fills that space and pushes the slab back up.
Driveway questions

Frequently asked

Why did my driveway sink?
The soil under the slab settled or washed out. It happens a lot in Northeast Ohio because of freeze and thaw cycles and poor compaction when the driveway was poured.
Can you fix the dip where the driveway meets the garage or street?
Yes. Aprons and the first slab off the garage are the most common lifts we do. We raise the slab until it sits flush again.
How soon can I park on it?
The foam cures in about 15 minutes. You can drive on the driveway the same day, usually within the hour.
Is foam strong enough for a car?
Yes. Polyurethane foam supports far more weight than a residential vehicle puts on it, and it will not wash out or compress over time like mudjacking slurry.
